Estate Agents Shepherds Bush

The name Shepherds Bush is thought to have originated from the use of the common land here as a resting point for shepherds on their way to Smithfield Market in the City of London.Early 19th Century Shepherds Bush was largely undeveloped and mainly rural in character, with much open farmland compared to fast-developing Hammersmith. Residential development began in earnest in the late 19thCentury, as London's population expanded relentlessly.

Shepherds Bush is now a highly popular region of West London and is situated within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Bordering Hammersmith, Brook Green, Holland Park, Willesden, Acton, and Chiswick, Shepherds Bush is ideally located for access to the rest of the city. The main thoroughfares are Uxbridge Road, Goldhawk Road and Askew Road.  Loftus Road in Shepherds Bush is home to Queen’s Park Rangers football club. Before the Westfield shopping centre arrived, Shepherds Bush was already home to a far more modest shopping centre, as well as a plethora of multi-ethnic supermarkets and eateries along Uxbridge Road.

Shepherds Bush is famous for The Beatles recording their first ever BBC broadcast at Lime Grove Studios in 1963, and many important rock ‘n’ roll groups have roots in Shepherd's Bush, such as The Who, Bush, The Clash, and the Sex Pistols, who all grew up in the area.  Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie also grew up in Shepherds Bush, and former England national rugby union team captain Lawrence Dallaglio was born here.
